The Cambridge Rocket Club finally hosted it’s first scheduled launch of the season on May 19, 2024. After three failed attempts to launch in April and early May due to poor weather, we finally got mother nature to cooperate. We met with ideal weather conditions, high 20 degree temperatures and winds below 10 KPH and a blue sky. A total of 19 members showed up for this launch.
The theme for the day was multi-staging and we flew 13 multistage rockets. By the end of the day we launched 69 model rockets including every thing from A to G engines, cluster rockets, scale rockets and boost gliders. We burned a total of 91 model rocket engines with a theoretical total impulse of 2,195 Neutons. The launch success rate was very high with a fuel failures and one rocket landing high up in a tree. Fun was had by all.
