The Cambridge Rocket Club successfully completed it’s twice postponed “Season Opener” launch on Sunday April 28th at it’s secondary launch site, LS5 located on Mohawk Road in Cambridge.
The skies were clear, temperatures around 10 degree Celsius and winds from the north varying between 15 and 25 kph. A total of 18 people were at the launch to brave the brisk conditions. We managed to launch a total of 36 rockets and 5 radio controlled rocket gliders. The 43 engines we burned ranged from “A” to “G” in impulse and we ended up burning 1.905 Newtons of impulse which is equivalent to 74.4% of a “K” motor. Our flight success rate was very high, unfortunately we managed to lose one rocket and four ended up in trees
