On Saturday January 9, 2021, the Cambridge Rocket Club hosted it’s first launch of the year. The winter conditions were ideal for flying. The temperature was just above freezing, the winds were light and a cloudless sky provided a great backdrop for our models. We managed to comply with current COVID-19 protocols by limiting our outdoor gathering to ten people. The mini-launch conditions also allowed us to maintain our social distancing requirements. By the end od the day we managed to launch a total of 19 model rockets powered from A to G engines. We burned a total of 24 model rocket engines with a theoretical total impulse of 590 Neutons. This was a great start of the year for those willing to fly under winter conditions. Hopefully we will be able to get another winter launch or two in before the Spring. Stay tuned.
