On November 28th, the Cambridge Rocket Club hosted it’s 11th and final scheduled model rocket launch of 2021. This launch was postponed three times due to poor weather (high winds), and finally the mild winds (10 – 15 kph) greeted us on the 28th. The sky was overcast with light snow falling and at freezing temperatures, less than ideal but suitable for three club members and two guests to come out. The min-launch was really “mini”, as anticipated, however we did manage to launch 9 model rockets and burn 9 model rocket engines with a total theoretical impulse of 133 neutons.
We had fun and closed out the CRC 2021 launch campaign. We will not be scheduling and CRC model rocket launches till the Spring of 2022, however we may host a winter mini-launch or two should conditions permit. Short notice announcements for a winter launch will be issued to the membership as may be required. I am currently working on a CRC 2021 launch summary and will post it when ready.
