The Cambridge Rocket Club successfully completed it’s second launch of the season on Saturday May 13th, 7 days after the twice postponed season opener. The weather was good with modetate temperatures, blue skies and gusty winds at times. Once again we welcomed a number of new guests and members to the club as we continue to grow. We had 14 model rocketeers launch their rockets for a total of 43 launches. We flew eveything from 1/2A to G engines. The rockets included some scale models as well as some rockets which flew with on-board cameras. We had several drag races including one that required a photo finish. The success rate was very high and I believe that all rockets were recovered. By the end of the day we burned 43 model rocket engines with a theoritical total impulse of 1,158 Neutons.
Our next scheduled launch is on Saturday June 10th and the theme is multi-staging where members are encouraged to bring out and fly their multi stage rockets. We will also be offering members an opportunity to practise their A.8-3 parachute spot landing rockts in preparation for the contest sponsored by the Canadian Rocket Store to be held on June 24th.
Keep building those models and hope to see as many of you as possible on June 10th..
