On Saturday August 10th, the Cambridge Rocket Club successfully completed it’s ninth launch of the year. The launch was held at LS 5 Mohawk Road, but for the first time set up on the sod farm on the south side of the road. This location provides members and guests a much larger landing and safety zones than previously. The temperatures were in the low 20’s, a predominantly clear sky with moderate winds in the morning, gusty in the afternoon.
A total of 15 members and one guest participated in the launch activities. We managed to launch 53 rockets in total and recovered every one of them. The launches featured 6 cluster rockets, 2 two stage rockets, rocket on board cameras, parachute delays, boost gliders, altimeters and accelerometers. We even had a couple of Saturn V rockets launched. We burned a total of 74 model rocket engines with a total impulse of 1,328 Newtons.
