On October 27, 2024, the Cambridge Rocket Club completed its 12th and final scheduled launch of the season. The weather was seasonal with cool temperatures, cloudy skies and winds at 15 kph, gusting to 25 kph. We had at total of 15 members and two guests launch their model rockets at this event as well as a number of guests there to enjoy the show. We welcome aboard new member James Hawley.
We managed to launch a total of 58 model rockets including cluster, two stage, on-board cameras, chute delays, scale and large rockets using engines from A to G. We managed to burn 71 model rocket engines with a theoretical total impulse of 1,915 neutons. I was impressed by our very high success rate especially considering we launched 3 cluster rockets and four two stage rockets, No models were lost and fun was had by all.
This was the final scheduled launch for the year, however, if and when conditions permit, we will schedule short notice mini launches until we resume flying scheduled launches next Spring. Stay tuned for some club announcements to follow.
