The Cambridge Rocket Club successfully completed it’s Spring Launch on May 4, 2019, our second launch in as many weeks.
We’ve now cleared our backlog and are moving forward with our planned launch schedule. Our launch took place under overcast skies with an estimated 900 foot ceiling. The 12 degree temperatures were accompanied by very light wind approximately 5 KPH.
A total of 10 members participated with another 9 guests/spectators on site. We managed to launch 34 model rockets including 4 clustered rockets. We also launched 4 radio controlled rocket gliders. We ended up burning 1,340 Newtons of impulse by the time the launch was over. I did note that we had many parachutes that failed to open and understand that some of them were packed the day before the launch. It is good practice to carefully fold and pack your parachutes just prior to launching the rocket. I also would like to thank those embers that helped with Range Officer duties and helped with the set-up and tear down of the launch equipment.
