The Cambridge Rocket Club hosted it’s second and final “winter” launch of the season on the First Day of Spring, March 20, 2021. We were greeted with very mild conditions (+140C), clear blue skies and moderate westerly winds. Four members and several guests participated. We managed to fly a total of 13 model rockets with engines varying from “B” to “G” motors. The success rate was relatively high, however we did have two flights suffer ejection charge failures resulting in one damaged rocket and unfortunately one lost rocket. It was a good opportunity to shake off some of the rust and get out doors during this pandemic.
Our first scheduled launch of the year is Saturday April 10th. As per usual, we will be keeping an eye on the weather and making our launch GO / NO GO decision of the Thursday evening prior to the launch. As a friendly reminder, please have your paperwork in order. Be sure to renew your MAAC license prior to the next launch. CRC membership renewals can be completed at the launch site.
